First, the basics:

1. If you want to get a divorce in New York State, you need to go to New York State Supreme Court. Each of those judges handles divorce issues differently, and we can help you anticipate what will happen depending on which judge has been assigned to your case. 2. If there isn't a divorce taking place, issues of custody, visitation, and child support are resolved in Family and Support Court. IN some counties, not only are there different judges than in Supreme Court, but in Family Court the judges have attorney referees and magistrates to help determine issues. Knowing these judges and how they operate, along with knowing how to build a successful strategy is extremely important.
